IASA Book Award

The IASA Book Award is offered even numbered years for a scholarly work and odd numbered years for a creative work. The award of $500 will be presented to an outstanding scholarly contribution to the field of Italian American Studies . Works nominated must be authored monographs and must be primarily in English. (Edited collections are not eligible.) Nominations may be made by a publisher or a member in good standing of the Association. The past winners are:

• 2019 Book Award: Louise DeSalvo's The House of Early Sorrows. Fordham UP, 2018.
• 2018 Book Award: Samuele F. S. Pardini's In the Name of the Mother: Italian Americans, African Americans, and Modernity from Booker T. Washington to Bruce Springsteen. Dartmouth College P, 2017.
• 2017 Book Award: Camilla Trinchieri's Seeking Alice. Excelsior Editions, State U. of New York P, 2016.
• 2016 Book Award: Joseph Sciorra's Built with Faith: Italian American Imagination and Catholic Material Culture in New York City. U. of Tennessee P, 2015.
